May time biking - Leigh Woods

A bit late in posting this entry, haven't had a huge amount of spare time. Last month we decided to have a bike ride in Leigh Woods with Steve B. We parked up in Clifton and much to my amazement Emma cycled over the Suspension Bridge and through all the traffic in Clifton then went round the  new MTB trail in Leigh Woods.

I'm in two minds about the bike trail, it's good that investment is going into the area, but It's brought more people to the woods, which as a result means the tracks surrounding the mountain bike trails are getting a huge amount of wear and tear and are becoming huge deep piles of mud which are pretty much impossible to walk or cycle through. The woods just don't seem big enough to be promoted to outside people as a place to come without damage being done to the woodland (not to mention all the rubbish which was littered about). It was a good place to bike before the changes and the all terrain MTB has made it a bit less interesting for me anyway. We shall see how it goes, perhaps once the novelty wears off it will start to blend in a bit more.

I was dead impressed at how well Emma rode her bike. We don't have anywhere that she can really cycle near to us so she's only been out or her bike a handful of times since the stabalisers came off. She gave quite a bit of the trail a go, although went over the handle bars after trying some huge humps - two out of the four wasn't too bad though.. My child never fails to surprise me..

Come back!!

We also discovered a nice place area we'd not been into before..

And we came away from the adventure without any ticks which makes a change! (they are pretty bad in Leigh Woods)
